Jablonec nad Nisou

Jablonec nad Nisou with its population of nearly 50,000 is an administrative, entertainment, sport-and-recreation centre of the Jizerské Mountains.

Tourist Information Centre

Since 1 January 2009 it is a part of Cultural and Information Centre of Jablonec, o. p. s. Serving as destination management authority, TIC naturally coordinates regional information centres, operates an information centre, publishes books, prints, and also updates their information sources, promotes the town at different expositions, runs company web pages and participates at creating new touristic destinations (e. g. opening of technical or sacred monuments to the public).

Town History

Although the first written document about a settlement on the Nisa river called Jablonec dates back to as early as 1356, Jablonec did not achieve the importance of the settlements established in more fertile locations of the kingdom for the whole of the Middle Ages.
